My Scripture Songs +

Memorize God’s Word with me? Music helps God’s all-important words stick in my mind. I made up the Scripture songs below to train my heart and mind for the spiritual battle I face each day.

Like Jesus, we can use Scripture, the “sword of the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:17), to gain victory in temptations or trials (Matthew 4:1-11). Victory is sure — when we remind Satan of what God’s Word says, and when we choose to obey what it says.

You’ll see a list of songs and posts below. Each song is followed by the post in which it appears. I encourage you to read the posts, as well as learn the songs! I plan to add more songs in upcoming posts, so please check back again.

We are in a serious spiritual battle. Let’s arm ourselves well with the unbeatable sword of the Spirit.

Note: Two of the songs belong in the “+” part of “My Scripture Songs+”. “He is the Lord, He is my God,” is a fun way to sing truths about God’s love to the tune of “Funiculi, Funicula.” And “It’s the Little Things” is a poem/tune I wrote for my husband Ed’s birthday one year, about the way I (mis)use my time.
